JFK airport is equipped with Wi-Fi Internet wireless service through out the terminals with very high speed as well as power outlets conveniently located in all public seating areas. Power outlets are found on the top of each of the large circular seating areas in the center at either end of each terminal.
Some of JFK airport terminals are equipped with showers and elite frequent flyers club where you can relax if you have a big lapse between flights. These services are offered free of charge. Check with the terminal you are using for a list of services available. Be aware that you can also take the AirTrain to other terminals. The AirTrain serves as a convenient terminal to terminal transporation service, as the AirTrain makes frequent stops at all airline terminals, parking lots, hotel shuttle areas and rental car facilities. During peak hours, a trip between all terminals takes about 10 minutes, so be certain you have sufficient time before you hop on board. Before you decide to go to another terminal be sure that what you are looking for is not already found at your terminal.
Transportation Services
Transportation service at JFK airport can summaries as follows:
JFK Limousine service
For about $110 you can hire a ten passenger limousine to take you to and from JFK and into New York City. If you are traveling with a lot of people this might be your best option as taxis and other car service can only fit about 3 people. A limo service definitely makes a good alternative to taxis when traveling to and from Kennedy International Airport.
JFK airport car service
If you are traveling with 4 to 7 passengers your best option is to hire a luxury SUV from a reputable car service company. A luxury SUV from a reputable car service company will cost you about $85 plus tip and believe me there is a big difference between riding in a luxury SUV as supposed to a JFK Taxi. JFK Taxis are stinky to say the least and very uncomfortable.
Another option that you can get from a car service company is a 4 passenger luxury sedan. If you are traveling by yourself or with someone else then a car service that offers luxury sedans is best suited for you. The chauffeurs are more courteous than taxi drivers and the car are well maintained. A good car service company will charge between $45 to $55 to or from JFK airport.

JFK Taxi
The dreaded JFK Taxi. As a last resort if you didn't book in advance, you didn't read what I and others have to say on the Internet about JFK Taxi and you are in a hurry, by all means do take the yellow taxi cabs at JFK. Expect to pay around $45 to Manhattan and more to other parts of New York City. This $45 dollar fare is in addition to tolls and tip and DOES NOT apply to trips originating from the New York City into JFK airport. To say the least, this is a no frills ride and usually in an old taxi with a driver that smells like he stinks. Even Sting will say that Stinks.
Services at JFK Terminals
Several airports terminals at JFK have facilities for premium passengers. These lounges are typically for international or long-haul first and business class passengers, paid members, and elite-level frequent fliers on long haul flights. Some terminals even have showers.
Food and beverages
There are hundreds of places at which to eat or grab some fast food at JFK Airport. Chances are you will find what you want in the terminal you are using. Such names as Burger King, McDonald's and Starbucks are highly popular, as are places like Euro Café, Shannon's Bar and The Grove.
In the mood for a drink? There are but a few places at which to grab a drink at JFK Airport. Prices at the bar are about the same as any where in New York City. Chances are you will find a bar in the terminal you are using. Check out Anton's Napa Valley Wine Bar, Brooklyn Brew Pub at terminal 1 and Sam Adam's at terminal 3. Bar Avion is located on terminal 4 while Murray's Irish Pub and the Atlantic Bar & Lounge are located on terminal 6 and 7 respectively. On terminal 8 you find Broadway Brewing Co and terminal 9 is the home of TGI Fridays. ;-)
