Taxi to JFK

A taxi can be a cost effective trip for business travelers. The rate is per car, not per person, so share a ride if possible (both to save money and emissions).

Here are few things you should be aware of:

Try booking a car service in advance by going on the Internet and finding a reputable company. It will save time and the hassle of fighting over a taxi.

Tipping is customary for good service (15 %- 20%)

You pay for all tolls between JFK airport and your pick address. On all trips within the New York City, any bridge and tunnel tolls to the destination shall be paid by the passenger, who shall be informed before the start of the trip.

JFK Taxi

Be careful of Taxis at JFK

Taxis are available at every terminal and there is a taxi stand where you will be directed to a taxi. I just want to warn people of the taxi's at JFK, expect to pay around $45 plus toll and tip from JFK to Manhattan. A car service company if book in advance will do the service for about $55 plus toll and tip. But ware of men that wait in the arrivals terminals and approach you asking if you need a taxi, you would think that you are going be getting in a yellow cab but it is a free lance limo company and it can cost you $65 plus tip you will ended up paying around $90. So just be careful or you'll end up paying twice what you need to pay for no more comfort or haste.

Instead arrange for a professional courteous driver to pick you up and take you to your home, hotel, or place of business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These JFK Taxi service companies understand that customer satisfaction is the key to success, and that is why they promise to make your ground transportation experience a hassle free, safe and affordable one.

Taxi JFK Fare

The Taxi & Limousine Commission is conducting a Flat Fare program for trips between (to and from) the Manhattan and JFK International Airport.

The flat fare is $45.00 plus any tolls. The meter will not be turned on and the night surcharge will not be added. Taxis into the city take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. So now you don’t have to wonder if your driver is taking you the long way to make an extra buck.

If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $45.00 will be collected at the first stop in either Manhattan or John F. Kennedy Airport, and the meter will be turned on for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger. Taxis are cash only.
Make sure to hail a cab in the designated areas or ask a uniformed airport employee to help you. Generally, it's polite to tip at least a dollar per bag if the taxi driver assists you.

For destinations outside of Manhattan, consult the TLC Fare Guide. You may also want to familiarize yourself with the Taxi Rider's Bill of Rights. There is no additional charge for luggage and rates are based per car, not per passenger (up to four passengers). To return to JFK from Manhattan, taxis will charge you the metered rate, plus any applicable tolls. Sample Fares from JFK International Airport to Destinations Other Than Manhattan. These are estimated fares. Actual fares vary depending on traffic. Tolls are in addition to metered fares and are not shown.
