John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), also known as JFK, is New York City’s largest international airport, it is big, busy and difficult to navigate.  JFK International Airport is a hub of activities with people shopping, dining and awaiting their next destination. JFK airport is improving through extensive improvements to its terminals, roadways and inter-terminal transportation. Wi-Fi at JFK Airport

Wi-Fi Internet wireless access points or hot spots are found through out JFK airport terminals with pretty regular up-time. Be prepare to provide some personal information before using the wifi service as expected of all free services. 

Power outlets at JFK

Conveniently there are several publicly available power outlets for you to charge your laptop and other accessories. They are found on the top of each of the large circular seating areas in the center of the two "pods" at either end of the terminal. There are also a few scattered outlets along the seats on the ramps leading to the pods.

Restaurants at JFK Airport

There are hundreds of places at which to eat or grab some fast food at JFK Airport. Chances are you will find what you want in the terminal you are using. Such names as Burger King, McDonald's and Starbucks are highly popular, as are places like Euro Café, Shannon's Bar and The Grove. If you don't find what you are looking for, you can take the AirTrain to other terminals. During peak hours, a trip between all terminals takes about 8 minutes, so be certain you have sufficient time before you hop on board. Bars at JFK Airport

There are but a few places at which  to grab a drink at JFK Airport. Prices at the bar are about the same as any where in New York City. Chances are you will find a bar in the terminal you are using. Check out Anton's Napa Valley Wine Bar, Brooklyn Brew Pub at terminal 1 and Sam Adam's at terminal 3. Bar Avion is located on terminal 4 while Murray's Irish Pub and the Atlantic Bar & Lounge are located on terminal 6 and 7 respectively. Information on Shopping and Gift shops at JFK

There are quite a few number of places to shop at JFK International Airport. So there is no excuse for you not to bring a gift home to that special someone in your life or to your business associates. Every JFK Airport terminal has a wide variety of shops offering a broad range of products. All terminals have high end shops and the more common gift shop. Duty Free

At New York JFK Airport the World Duty Free shops can be found in Terminals 2, 3, and 7. In addition to these there is also a duty-free shop in Terminal 4, as well as internationally owned shops offering duty-free goods in Terminal 1, Terminal 8, and Terminal 9.

Currency Exchange and Cash Machines (ATMs)

Information on Medical Facilities

In case of medical emergency there are trained medical personnel on site 24 hours a day, while for non-emergency requirements there is a pharmacy situated in Terminal 4, open from 7 am until 11 pm.

In the case of travelers needing to see a Doctor there is a 24 hour service, with a privately run medical center catering to individuals needs. They can be contacted on 877 JFK DOCS, which translates to 1-877-535-3627 and have a shuttle service to ferry patients to the medical center.

Baggage Claim Information

Baggage Carts are available at the entrances and exits and in the JFK Baggage Claim area. Each terminal has its own baggage claim area. Skycap service is also available throughout the airport to persons needing special assistance. Once you have disembarked from your plane, follow the signs to Baggage Claim. Once you arrive there, check the monitors to find the carousel that corresponds to your flight number. Be prepared to surrender your luggage tags to security personnel.

Lost & Found Information

If you've been a victim of lost luggage, don't panic. Look for the airline baggage office, usually located right there at baggage claim, and be prepared to fill out the paperwork. Usually they will tell you when you can expect your bag to arrive, and will provide transportation for your bag to your home or hotel. For lost and found items, check with your airline first. Smoking is prohibited in all public areas inside the passenger terminals at JFK International Airport but there are designated smoking booths in some terminals.
